GESPS one of two Primary Schools to receive Lee Hsien Long Award for Innovation in Uplifting Students
We are pleased to share that GESPS is one of two Primary schools in Singapore to be awarded the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Innovations in Uplifting Students (LHL AIUS) 2022, following a rigorous selection and validation process.
The award recognises schools that foster inclusivity and care for students from low-income families, at-risk students and learners requiring educational support. Schools are evaluated based on their effective, sustained and innovative efforts in catering to the needs of the target students.
GESPS is extremely proud of its very dedicated and committed team who would always go that extra mile to care and develop our students. We will keep up the good work to help all students to achieve their fullest potential.
Co-Curriculum Activities (Uniformed Groups) Awards
Gan Eng Seng Primary School is proud to announce that our Scouts CCA and Brownies CCA have been awarded the Frank Cooper Sands Award (Gold) and Puan Noor Aishah Award (Silver) respectively for our efforts in 2022.
The Frank Cooper Sands Award is awarded annually to sectional Scout units for unit excellence. The award is also known as the Best Unit Competition under the Co-Curricular Activities Branch of the Ministry of Education. The Frank Cooper Sands Award undergoes a submission process where each unit leader assesses their unit’s progress and achievements for the year under assessment.
Every year, the Puan Noor Aishah Award is presented to outstanding Brownies and Girl Guides units who have fulfilled the criteria set out by Girl Guides Singapore.
The criteria include:
• Leadership involvement of the Brownie Guiders (teachers-in-charge)
• Participation in inter-unit / divisional activities
• Attainment level of proficiency badges
• Community service involvement of the Brownies
• Achievements by the Brownies in inter-unit / divisional competitions
Thank you, Scouts and Brownies, for your commitment and active involvement in the CCA. We would also like to thank all parents, for their continuous support and motivation, who have made this possible for us and helped us achieve this far.
